ASX - Australia's Wall Street/New York Stock Exchange

Upon researching more about the ASX today, I found another interesting fact about the AXS is that it has an average daily turnover of $4.685 billion and a market capitalization of around $1.4 trillion AUD. It is considered to be one of the worlds top-10 listed exchange groups, comparable to that of the New York Stock Exchange, London Stock Exchange and Deutsche Boerse (a fancy Euro stock and securities exchange.)

I think what I found most interesting about this fact that was that, given I have had such little exposure to anything relating to stocks, or stock exchanges other than what I have seen in movies - it is easy to relate the idea of these institutions to America, or as an American thing. Maybe that is a little bit ignorant, but I didn't necessarily think that the ASX would be on the same scale as the US or those in Europe. But! It is! That level or money rolling and rolling out, everyday in the ASX is incredible! Especially since that I barely have $10 in my wallet whenever I go to look!

I think this goes hand in hand with another fact I read on their blog is that the ASX is "world-class" - apparently they weren't kidding!
